ABOUT US

ABOUT

A beauty-only Japan team, founder-led. MarkeAI works with Japanese cosmetics makers and OEMs on how their products sell, builds the tool that measures it, and takes brands across borders in both directions: Japanese brands out, and now foreign brands in.

01 / FOUNDER

FOUNDER

Daisuke Shimizu, Founder and CEO of MarkeAI
Founder & CEO

Daisuke Shimizu

Daisuke runs marketing for Japanese cosmetics makers and OEM manufacturers, from claims and copy to Qoo10, TikTok Shop and trade shows, and advises brands on overseas expansion. He built POSBUZZ, a tool that puts social posts and e-commerce sales on the same timeline and strips the contaminations that inflate view counts, after watching brand managers make decisions on numbers that were mostly noise.

He spoke on brand strategy at Next Cosmetic Expo 2026 (March 17, 2026), the trade show for Japan's cosmetics industry, and wrote the Japan Beauty Market Playbook, first published in Japanese and now in English on this site.

He is based in Hokkaido, works US-morning hours on Tuesdays to Thursdays for overseas clients, and answers his own email: [email protected].

02 / HOW WE WORK

Three rules we apply to every brand.

01 · Data first

Decisions start from measured facts, not instinct.

Organic UGC volume, not total views. Daily sales against daily posts, not a quarterly deck.

02 · Decide what not to do

A small budget wins by concentration.

We write the "not doing" list before the plan, and put the money on the moment of purchase.

03 · One team

Strategy through execution, no hand-offs.

The person who set the plan writes the Japanese copy, briefs the creators and reads the numbers. Nothing lost in translation.
